Heath walk (1.3km)

Walking from the main car park you pass under an old prototype bridge span which acts as a noticeboard, walk to the right of the BBQ and shelter and up a gravel track which leads back towards Todd Road. This takes you along a redgum woodland ridge between Todd Road and the oval.

At the corner where you turn away from Todd Road there are some timber bollards marking a track down the hill to the road. Follow this path to a road entry gate…..

and turn back along this road through high heathland.

Continue beside the billabong ponds and red gum woodland.

Turn left on the path around the end of the large lagoon which winds through a sandy heath ….

which is a mass of different species of flowering shrubs in the spring (August and September).

Turn left on the wide gravel path near the dam and then left again to climb the stairs to an observation point for views across the freshwater lake to the bridge.

Walking downhill you pass the lagoon on the left and meet again the cross roads …….

and can continue along the lake edge to the BBQ shelter. Halfway along this stretch a path leads to the lake edge where there is a viewing platform for observing the water birds.
